Installing Online Armor

Online Armor runs on Windows XP SP3 (32bit), Vista SP2 (32bit), 7 (32bit & 64bit) and 8 (32bit & 64bit). To ensure optimal performance we recommend a computer with a Pentium 4 processor or newer and at least 512 MB RAM (1 GB would be better).

Installation

Note: Your computer will need internet access to check for updates and activate registration information during installation.

Download the latest setup file from the website. Start the downloaded file (OnlineArmorSetup.exe) and follow the instructions of the setup wizard. When the install process has completed you will see a dialog titled "Completing the Online Armor Setup Wizard" asking if you wish to start Online Armor now.

Selecting a license model

You will now be asked to select your preferred license model (30 day trial or Online Armor Premium). If you would like to use Online Armor in freeware mode, click the "Limited freeware version" link below the table.

If you opt to use a Premium license you will be prompted to enter your license key and confirm it by selecting "Next". Your license key is emailed to the email address you provided when purchasing. This license is now connected exclusively with your computer. This means that you can not use this key on more computers than it is licensed for. Note that you can transfer a license to a new computer at any time with minimal effort. However, hardware changes are limited to a maximum of 3 actions per 24 hours.

Security Scan and Initialization

After installation, Online Armor will proceed with the Security Scan and Initialization. The product update will check our servers to ensure that you have the latest Emsisoft digital signature blacklist and whitelist.

Online Armor will now scan for Autoruns and then check the results against the Anti-Malware Network to identify known safe or malicious programs.

When Initialization has completed you will be asked to restart your computer to enable Online Armor's protection. If any Unknown Autoruns were detected, you will be given the option to Allow or Block them before restarting. If you wish to adjust program options before Online Armor starts, you can do so by clicking the link in the bottom left corner.
